Blog Roll

Welcome to the war

Before I begin any political or societal commentary, I thought I would introduce you to the nature of this blog and this blogster.

Firstly, I want to underscore the significance of this blog's title. "Crossing Enemy Lines" is a reference to the political and cultural conflict present in modern America. There is a war going on between secular liberalism and traditional values, in this country, and every citizen is a participant. I, as you have undoubtedly surmised, consider myself a stolid advocate of conservatism (aka I'm a Right-Wing zealot) and am doing my part to protect the America I love. Though my contributions to the fight may be small, I still consider myself somewhat of an activist because not many people my age care about politics and current affairs.

I deliberately did not call my patch of cyberspace "Behind Enemy Lines" for, although I see the "progressive" phage poisoning society, I am not yet in the belly of the beast, dealing with misguided and often deluded liberals. I am still a teenager--quite aware of reality, but not "in the world" or on my own. I am not yet behind the enemy's lines, but I am drawing ever closer to the day that I will leave my safe, Republican home and step into the world of the loony Left. That is what I mean when I say, "Crossing Enemy Lines", so you may consider yourself enlightened.

Second, I'd like to give you a little preview of the type of entries you'll see here. I will not promise blog posts that rival Michelle Malkin's in argumentative brilliance or Rush Limbaugh's in intriguing insight. I will, however, promise to add a unique point of view to current news stories and other, non-political topics. Honestly, how often do you hear teenagers discussing government and society without saying, "Bush lied and the war is wrong, dude!"

Here is a list of potential topics this blog will cover:
Current news stories (be advised, this blogster only watches FOX News)
Teenage/young adult culture
Attacks on Christianity
Personal anecdotes relevant to the discussion of liberalism in society
American society as a whole
Foreign affairs that do not make national media
(i.e. political issues in Amsterdam, Dublin, London, etc.)

Also be warned that I have a tendency to analyze situations as if I were in AP Literature class. Please be patient with my philosophical babble and my scrutiny of diction and parallel themes, for I draw comparisons with abstract and unrelated things when I feel particularly scholarly.

And so, I christen this blog with a salute to you, my friend and comrade-in-arms. Welcome to the war.
