Everyone knows that Harvard doesn't allow just anyone to study at its institution and that students there display some degree of genius. That being said, everyone also knows that the majority of students attending the grandfather of the Ivy League are insufferable liberals (which, to many, diminishes the purported "intelligence" of the student body). It's no secret that republicans and conservatives are virtually non-existent at Harvard and that the university is a cesspool of liberalism, however a study released by Marvin Kalb of Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government shows that perhaps a light of truth is dawning over in Cambridge.
In a 40-page dissertation entitled, "The Israeli-Hezbollah War of 2006: The Media as a Weapon in Asymmetrical Conflict", Kalb discusses "the trajectory of the media from objective observer to fiery advocate, becoming in fact a weapon of modern warfare." (Abstract, page 2). In short, Kalb actually takes the position that the media is biased and actively participated in and influenced the war.
"A key consequence of this new warfare [using technology and the media to spread propaganda and present news coverage with a slant] is that the role of the journalist in many parts of the world has been dramatically transformed—from a quest for objectivity and fairness to an acceptance of advocacy as a tool of the craft. If once the journalist aspired to honest and detached reporting, now it has become increasingly acceptable for the journalist to be an activist player and a fiery advocate." (Page 7.)
So, because a Harvard study concluded what we conservatives have known for years, does that mean there are intelligent people at Harvard? One can only hope and pray.

On a related note, the Harvard GSAS (Graduate School of Arts and Sciences) Alliance for Justice in the Middle East (AJME) recently protested business student Dan Halutz's presence on campus, due to his status as a "war criminal". Halutz was the head of the Israeli military during the 2006 conflict with Lebanon, and is accused of the "indiscriminate bombing" of Lebanese towns during the war.
The AJME printed his likeness on balloons and distributed "Wanted" posters in order to raise awareness. The blogster is unaware of any events or actions that followed.
To read the accusations against Halutz, and to read more about the AJME and Harvard's war criminals, see http://harvardwarcriminals.blogspot.com/2007/05/dan-halutz.html.
